Jennifer Caloyeras is an author living in Los Angeles. Her debut short fiction collection, Unruly Creatures (October 2017), was published by West Virginia University Press. She is the author of two young adult novels, most recently, Strays (2015). Her short stories have appeared in Monday Night Literary, Wilde Magazine, Storm Cellar, Booth and other literary journals. In 2016, Jennifer served as the writer-in-residence at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica.
Jennifer runs a bi-weekly podcast for booklovers, Books Are My People. She is also a visual artist specializing in collage art, made from well-loved books, of course.
Jennifer currently teaches Short Fiction and Writing the Young Adult Novel at UCLA Extension’s Writers’ Program and privately. She holds a BA In English from the University of California at Santa Cruz, a MA in English Literature from California State University Los Angeles and a MFA in Creative Writing through the University of British Columbia.
